your child’s belongings. This includes bottles, sippy cups, diaper bags, and
pacifiers. We will have some labels available at check-in. please do not bring
toys from home, besides a comfort item, as we cannot be responsible if there
toys are lost or left behind.

will be called out of the MOPS meeting. If you are concerned about your child’s
well being during MOPS, there are curtained windows you can look through.

symptoms:

in the last 24 hours
· Vomiting or diarrhea
currently or in the last 24 hours
· Runny nose (only clear runny
noses are okay)
· Persistent cough

· Skin infections (impetigo,
boils, ringworm, etc.)
· Eye infections (pink eye,
etc.)
· Treatment with antibiotics
started less than 24 hours before
· Childhood diseases (chicken
pox, mumps, etc.)
Special
Notices:
- If your child develops nay of the above symptoms while in our care, we will have you remove your child from MOPPETS.
- We WILL NOT administer any diaper rash creams or medications. If you need to administer any of these you will need to come and treat your child.
- Please make us aware of ANY allergies.
Safety: Because the safety and well
being of every child is our highest priority, all unnecessary roughness,
arguing, and other disruptive behavior will be dealt with using loving but firm
discipline, including “time-outs” when necessary. Please refer to the following
stages of our disciplinary procedure:
- Teachers or helpers will use verbal correction, including specifically addressing the child’s actions and why it is unacceptable. The child will be encouraged to acknowledge his/her wrongdoing and to take appropriate action to correct the situation. If the child is willing he/she will be praised for that choice and allowed to rejoin activities. Verbal correction for the same behavior should occur no more than twice.
- Teacher or helpers will administer a “time-out”. The duration of the “time-out” will be one minute for every year of age of that child. Teacher or helper will again explain the reasons the child’s behavior is unacceptable and why he/she ha been removed from the group. If the child is willing to heed direction at the end of the “time-out”, he/she will be praised for that choice and restored to the group.
- When discipline has been administered, both verbally and with a “time-out”, and the child is unwilling to obediently acknowledge instruction, the teacher or helper may choose to send for the child’s mother. The mother may be asked to speak with the child, sit with the child, or remove the child at the teacher’s discretion.
Again,
we strive to ensure the well being of all of our children in the MOPPETS
program. These procedures are implemented to allow each child the opportunity
to learn and develop in an atmosphere of encouragement, cooperation, and
security.
MOPPETS Help: We have a great group of
MOPPETS volunteers; however, sometimes we are short on workers. If you are
willing to help during a meeting, please sign up on the MOPPETS Sign-Up Sheet.
